Gibson Family
Our Story
We are a traveling family of 5. We have been traveling the better part of the last 20 years. We have done all kinds of travel in all kinds of places.
Our traveling lifestyle all started with creating an online company. The flexibility of an online company opened up the world to us. No longer were we strapped to a location. Thinking about where we actually wanted to live and how we truly wanted our day to run was revolutionary.
In the beginning we were in our early twenties with young kids. We rarely had anyone to babysit, so we quickly became experts at traveling with our kids. Most of our original travel was scouting out places we wanted to live. Places that were warm with good beaches.
With the young kids and with our online company taking a lot of time we found moving places and exploring the area at a slower more manageable pace worked better for us. So we moved around a lot and took longer trips in between homes.
Now twenty years later, we have become somewhat veterans of this digital nomad lifestyle. The kids are older and easier. The work is taking less time and making more money. We have the resources and the set up so we can travel a lot farther easier. We have found our pace and a lifestyle that mostly works for us and when it doesn’t we figure out why and re balance.
Some of the places we have had as home base; Destin, Florida., St. Thomas, USVI., Clearwater, Florida., Huntington Beach, California, Kauai, Hawaii.
Some of our favorite trips have been: Portugal, Bali, Italy, Scandinavia, Eruope & UK. , Australia etc. Road trips through National Parks. R.V. trips through the US and Canada. Hawaii, Virgin Islands, Florida and Keys etc. We have found we don’t like to fly anywhere for less than a month. We really like to take things slower and find it makes everyone a little less likely to freak out.
Some of our least favorite. Flights where toddlers threw up all over me. flights that sprayed Lysol or some other poison on us at the end of a 10 hour flight because of Quarantine. . Pretty much any trip where we think we can do way to much and then everyone explodes.
